Mike Horton

Lead Pastor

Born and raised in Jesup, Georgia, Pastor Michael Horton began his ministry in his hometown in 1996. After pastoring churches in Georgia, his ministry continued in Saskatchewan, Canada followed by coastal Maine. Along with his wife of 33 years, Sherry Warren Horton, Pastor Michael’s ministry has included community outreach, radio ministry, and chaplaincy for various law enforcement and sporting organizations. The Hortons have served at the state level in both youth and women’s ministries. Pastor Michael holds a Master of Arts degree in Church Ministries from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, Tennessee. The Hortons have two daughters, two sons-in-law, and six grandchildren.

Jacob Hartman

Youth Pastor

Pastor Jacob Hartman is a North Carolina native, born and raised here in Sanford. He grew up in Sanford Church and has spend many years serving in youth ministry, worship, and media. He has a laid back personality, and is passionate about showing others his love for Jesus. In 2021, He and wife Rebekah Hartman answered the call to ministry and in 2023, both became ordained ministers. Jacob and Rebekah have one wonderful daughter, Charlie Grace Hartman.
 

Kendra Hicks

Children’s Director

Kendra Hicks was born and raised in Southwest Missouri. She married her high school sweetheart, Jeremiah, and together they have two children, Chloe and Kysen. Before becoming a military wife, a stay-at-home mom and a homeschool mom, she was a nanny for over four years. She loves planning events and decorating for every occasion. She has a heart for the future generation to lead and guide them so that they too will want and desire to always follow Jesus!

 

Courtney Geercken

Administrative Assistant

Courtney was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and grew up in Baumholder, Germany until the age of 7, when the US Army stationed her father to Clayton, NC. After graduation, she completed 2 years at Lead Institute Baltimore, and returned home to serve the Eastern North Carolina Church of God State Executive offices for 5+ years. She is married to her best friend, Joshua, and they live in Sanford, NC where she serves her family as a stay-at-home wife and mom and cares for their twins, Weston & Emory. She has a heart for worship and loves using her creative and administrative skills to serve others!
